  1. As described for Fig. 5, wild type or Rgs2−/− mice were exposed to aerosolized PBS (20 ml) or LPS from E. coli 0127:B8 (20 ml at 150 μg/ml) for 30 min. BAL fluid was prepared 3, 6 or 24 h after LPS challenge, as indicated. Following centrifugation to remove cells, the supernatants were analyzed by Luminex. Those mediators showing LPS-induced expression of < 5 pg/ml in wild type or Rgs2−/− animals are listed in A. Mediators showing LPS-induced expression < 100 pg/ml in wild type or Rgs2−/− animals are shown in B. Data (N = 6–8) are provided in pg/ml as mean ± SE. Significance between PBS control and the 3 and 24 h post-LPS exposure was assessed by nonparametric ANOVA with a Dunn’s post test. **P ≤ 0.01, ***P ≤ 0.001.
